You might know the feeling: you are sitting in front of your screen, the task is clear, but your head won't cooperate. You read the same sentence three times without understanding it. You forget what you were just about to say. You lose the thread in conversations. You cannot get going properly in the morning, even though you slept well. It feels as if a thick fog is passing through your brain.

This is brain fog. And it is not a sign of weakness or declining intelligence. It is a signal from your nervous system – a sign that communication between different areas of the brain is disrupted. Your brain is not working efficiently, it is overloaded, undersupplied, or out of balance.

The causes are diverse: chronic stress, lack of sleep, an overloaded cervical spine, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, or even the long-term effects of a Covid infection. Whatever the trigger – the feeling of not being able to think clearly is stressful.

Neurofeedback can help you clear the fog. It trains your brain to work more efficiently again – thereby improving your concentration, your clarity, and your mental performance.

What is brain fog – and how does it develop?

Brain fog – literally "Gehirnnebel" – is not a medical term, but a very fitting metaphor for a state that many people know. You feel mentally sluggish, your thoughts feel as if they are wrapped in cotton wool, and you have to make an extreme effort to form clear thoughts.

The causes of brain fog are diverse. Chronic stress plays a major role – it keeps your nervous system in a state of permanent high alert, which resource-depletes cognitive performance in the long term. A lack of sleep prevents your brain from regenerating overnight. An overloaded cervical spine can impair blood flow and the nerve supply to your brain.

Hormonal changes – such as during menopause or with thyroid problems – can also trigger brain fog. And many people report brain fog as a long-term consequence of a Covid infection.

Whatever the cause: brain fog is not a condition that you simply have to accept.

How neurofeedback helps with brain fog

Neurofeedback is not a medication that suppresses symptoms. It is a training that helps your brain work more efficiently again. We measure your brain activity and give you real-time feedback on how your brain is working. You learn to reinforce the frequencies that provide clarity and concentration – and to reduce those that cause the fog.

Your brain learns to establish new, more efficient pathways. Over time, you will find it increasingly easier to think clearly and concentrate.

Many clients report that the fog clears after just a few sessions. They think more clearly, are more alert, and can concentrate better again. They forget less, find words more easily, and feel more present overall.

Neurofeedback for concentration difficulties

Concentration difficulties are a common problem – not only in ADHD but also during chronic stress, sleep deprivation, or general exhaustion. You want to focus on a task, but your thoughts wander. You are constantly distracted, by your surroundings, by your own thoughts, by your phone.

Neurofeedback trains the attention networks in your brain. You learn to consciously control your attention – directing it where it needs to be and keeping it there. The sessions are designed exactly for this: you are given a task where you must remain focused, and your brain is rewarded for the correct frequency.

Many clients report that after training they can work with focus for longer periods again without drifting off. They are more productive, more efficient, and less exhausted at the end of the day.

Other causes of brain fog and concentration difficulties

Frequently, several factors are present at the same time. In our approach, we also consider other potential influencing factors and give you corresponding recommendations.

An overloaded cervical spine can impair blood circulation to your brain. We will show you exercises to improve your posture and relieve strain on your neck.

An unhealthy diet with too much sugar or too few nutrients can impair your brain performance. We recommend that you review and, if necessary, adjust your diet.

Hormonal fluctuations, such as during menopause or thyroid issues, can increase brain fog. We recommend discussing possible connections with your doctor.

Covid infections have also led to long-lasting brain fog in many people. Neurofeedback can be a valuable support here.

This is how your training works

Step 1: Test session (up to 60 minutes, €150 plus VAT)

We will get to know each other, discuss your challenges, and measure your brain activity. I will show you how your brain works and where the imbalances lie that lead to brain fog and concentration difficulties.

Step 2: Individualized training plan

Based on the measurement results, we develop a training plan tailored precisely to your needs. For brain fog after Covid, we train different areas than for chronic stress or ADHD. You will get clear goals and milestones.

Step 3: Regular sessions (75–90 minutes, €178.50 incl. VAT)

Each session begins with ergonomic and cognitive preparation – movement, posture optimization, sensory activation. This prepares your brain optimally for neurofeedback. If necessary, we add biofeedback for bodily regulation.

Initial noticeable changes – the fog lifting, concentration improving – often appear after just a few sessions. Sustainable, stable effects usually develop after a longer training period.
